Nepal Welfare is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit organization based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Nepal Welfare has many sister organization, the oldest being Water Resource and Environment Conservation Trust Nepal which was established in 2002 AD (2059 BS).

Conservationist Memorial Statue Park is the project that has got the most attention among many parks which was made by Water Resource and Environment Conservation Trust Nepal.

In September of 2006, a helicopter flying from Taplejung to Kathmandu was crashed in Ghunsa of Taplejung district. The helicopter was carrying 24 renowned national and international conservationists including the then minister for forestry Mr. Gopal Rai, Geographer Dr. Harka Gurung, Secretary of Nepal Government, Mr. Damodar Prasad Parajuli, Mr. Sarad Kumar Rai, the then Department chief of National Park and zoo department, deputy ambassador of embassy Finland, and the country and regional directors of many NGOs like WWF, USAID, World Wildlife Conservation Fund etc. The helicopter crash created a incomparable loss to the natural conservation sector of Nepal as well as the globe.

In this context, Conservationist Memorial Statue Park park is being made by Water Resource And Environment Conservation Trust Nepal in memory of 24 demised honorable people at Ramkot, Kathmandu in the memory of 24 remarkable peoples who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Ghunsa on September 23, 2006. The park is also under the grand project "Park Abhiyanta In Nepal".

 

Mr. Puspa Raj Panday was the first person who started making parks with the motive of conserving nature, generating employment opportunities, etc in Nepal.
